SnakeSense is an independent, nonprofit organisation driven by the sole objective of conserving snakes. We love snakes, and are dedicated to the task of convincing the world of their beauty, placidity and above all … their vital importance to the ecosystems which support each and every one of us.
Snakes are one of the most misunderstood animals on Earth. Their unflattering reputation is built upon a wealth of menacing myths which are as inaccurate as they are irrational.
In truth, when it comes to snakes, fact is far cuddlier than fiction … and this is what SnakeSense plans to prove.
To achieve our goal, we offer the following services:
> Snake Talks: educational demonstration sessions teaching people about snakes.
> Snake Catching: capture and relocation of snakes found in conflict with humans.
> Media Consulting: providing up-to-date research and skilled animal management.
> Safety Consulting: assisting land managers balance human and snake safety.
> Rehabilitation Shelter: rehabilitating injured snakes (and other wildlife).
> Wildlife Refuge: restoring and conserving native habitat.
> Snake Research: collaborating with fellow herpetologists on conservation research.
